The Heathfield & District Men’s Shed (HMS) Is the most recent venture linked with Age Concern Heathfield (ACH) and is open to men over 60 in the TN21 postcode.
The Men’s Shed fits in nicely with ACH’s aim to support those over 60 years of age in the TN21 area, with the aim to promote the importance of physical and mental health, and the wellbeing of older men.
A Men’s Shed is like a large garden shed, but community based; it’s a place where men can converse, create, connect and drink tea.
For those with crafting skills, equipment and training is available and encouragement is given to demonstrate and share those skills with other ‘Shedders’ – but the most important requirement is a willingness to participate, to enjoy yourself and have fun.
