As many of our readers will know we were chosen as one of the local causes to be featured for six months over the winter. One percent of member spends on Co-op branded products was allocated to one of the three causes and we are delighted that the Co-op and its customers recognised Age Concern Heathfield and District in such a big way. Our share was an enormous £6,561 for which we would like to say a big thank you to all who nominated us as their chosen charity.

This generous donation will be put to good use and will help to maintain our vehicles and hopefully take on new routes and serve a wider catchment area. We are gauging interest for a shopping bus to cover outlying areas to include Burwash, Broad Oak, Rushlake Green, Vines Cross, Dallington, Punnetts Town and Cade Street. Last year our minibuses covered some 10,700 miles and carried a total of 4275 passengers. The car service undertook 1175 journeys which comprised 520 hospital trips throughout the county and 655 local trips to doctors, dentists and opticians.
